-"Annoying" said Ryutarou while leaving his school class. Some of his classmates had started teasing him again, saying things like ' 'Cause I'm Ryutarou, I'm so mature' and 'I'm so famous, you guys are so lame'. He never said any of those. He never treated the people he considered his school friends that way. What was so funny about it?
Ever since the debut, Ryutarou had gone through a lot of pressure, but he had been able to manage it. This had been a great chance, and he enjoyed being with JUMP a lot, but since the new school year started, his classmates had been really annoying. The were coming up with phrases, trying to imitate Ryutarou, but nothing of what they said was true. Everyone was treating him as if he would treat other all high and mighty. He wasn't like that! It's true that since he debuted with JUMP, he had been trying to stop being so childish, since he had to be at rest of the member's level, but he didn't mean to change in front of his classmates.
Could it be that he really was acting all high and might? Did he consider himself more mature then the rest of his classmates? Well, he did, since he thought what they were doing was childish. Maybe, could it be he was actually the childish one, because he got mad at his class? Maybe he should just laugh at it, and let it pass? But he couldn't! It was too annoying. "I guess... I am childish after all...", he said to himself, while walking in one of the school floors.
He hadn't realize that a girl was coming towards him, from the opposite direction, and nor had she, since she was carrying a mountain of books that limited her visibility. He, absent minded as he was, and she, busy and without seeing where she was really, crashed onto each other.
-"I'm sorry!" she exclaimed, sitting in the floor and quickly picking up her books again. She hadn't even looked up to see him.
-"Don't worry, I wasn't watching my step either",said Ryutarou, kneeling down and helping her with the books.
-"Oh, thank you, I-" she started, but then looked up and recognized him, "Oh, it's you. I'm really sorry!!", she said, picked the last book, stood up and left quickly.
Ryutarou was still kneeling in the floor. So, even strangers disliked him then? Well.. they were strangers to him, but obviously, he wasn't.
He stayed there for a while. He didn't care anymore if someone was watching or not. He just sat there, quiet, while his brain seemed to explode. "Maybe... I shouldn't have debuted after all - maybe I really am too young - or maybe I shouldn't have even become a Johnny! Maybe I just don't really have what it takes, I don't have the courage to keep going forward. I am not as good as the rest of JUMP ... I can't manage this ..."
With such pessimist thoughts, he spend the rest of the school there. He then waited for his classmates to pass by, and then went back to the class to get his stuff. By the time he was getting out of the school building, almost everyone had left. He walked pass the school gate, when he heard a familiar voice saying again "I'm sorry...". He looked to the voice direction, and there was the girl he had crushed on before. He was still thinking what to say, when she talked again. "It was very rude from me to walk away. Please, let me compensate for it!". Ryutarou wasn't very sure of what she meant, but she really looked sorry. He agreed with his head, so, she asked him to follow her.
They stopped in front of and ice cream shop. "Do you like ice cream, Morimoto-kun?" she asked. "Yes, sure", he replied. She smiled and invited him to an ice cream. When both were sitting in the table, with their ice cream, she talked again.
-"I'm sorry again for today! I hope I didn't cause you any trouble..."
-"Don't worry, you've already apologized many times! And I believe I was at fault. You were coming with books, but I was just wandering around"
-"Yet, I shouldn't have just left. But I... When I saw who you were..."
-"Leave it like that. Just because I'm famous or something, you don't have to-"
-"I Like you!", she said firmly, blushing a little.
-"...huh?", Ryutarou wasn't sure of what he had heard. Like you, she said?
-"I know it sounds stupid, because you're a celebrity, and you had probably never seen me before, but I really like you!"
-"But... why? Why would you like me? You don't even really know me!!" , Ryutarou just thought of all the things he had in his mind. He even disliked himself, he had not faith in himself anymore, how could she just randomly say something like that...
-"Yes, I don't know you. I've just seen you on TV and on school. And even though I may not really know you, I admire you a lot!"
Ryutarou was blank. Admiration?
-"I think it's amazing how you can manage being a JUMP member! You're younger than me, and yet, you have done so much in your life! And you're younger than your bandmates, but yet, you manage to fit with them! I think that's not something anyone can do!"
Ryutarou could still not reply. Did he really fit in JUMP? Didn't he think he wasn't as good as the rest? Didn't he think he wasn't strong enough to be a Johnny? "Thank you" he said.
She just smiled, in a shy manner. Ryutarou realized that it was true. What was he thinking? Why did he doubt of himself? He had proved many times that he was a great idol, he was talented, he was funny, he got along well with his bandmates? Why did he suddenly loose his confidence?
-"And by the way... I don't think you're childish either!" she said then.
He remembered that that was what he was saying right before crushing into her. And that was all he needed. It didn't matter what other thought of him, right? If he was giving his best, then, he didn't need to pay attention to whatever they said! As long as there were also people who admired him and liked him for what he did, he would never step back. Ryutarou suddenly laughed for himself, realizing how stupid and sinless his depressive moment had been. She looked at him surprised. After seeing him down and gloomy the whole time, he was smiling now, in a way that it seemed as if even his eyes were smiling too!
-"Really, thanks a lot!" he said, still smiling. "Well, you haven't even told me you name, have you?"
-"Oh, right, sorry!"
-"Hey, don't apologize again!!"
Both laughed and kept talking. Ryutarou thought that someone who cared about him without even knowing, was worth of becoming a friend.
